The crankshaft is one of the most important mechanical components in a petrol engine, so yours needs to be working properly. 

Crankshafts convert the piston's up-and-down movement into rotational movement, which transfers through the engine and drives the machine. A worn or damaged crankshaft affects the engine’s performance and, in more serious cases, stops it from operating altogether.
