The STIHL story began in 1926, when engineer Andreas Stihl established his company in Stuttgart with a simple but ambitious idea: make working in the forest easier. His early development work led to the first STIHL chainsaw, and in 1929 the company introduced a petrol-powered saw that helped revolutionise forestry work.
