What Is an Auger?

An auger is a drilling tool that makes holes in the ground. An earth auger uses a rotating drilling tool, fitted with a spiral blade, to cut into and remove soil as it creates a borehole.

STIHL earth augers are designed for this type of drilling work, while other drilling tools can be used for planting and loosening soil.
