STIHL Primer Bulbs
A primer bulb helps draw fuel through the carburettor and fuel system as you start a petrol engine. By pressing the bulb several times, fuel gets circulated through the system, which prepares the engine to start.
Primer bulbs are small and relatively simple components, but they can deteriorate with age, fuel exposure and regular use. A cracked, hardened or damaged bulb makes priming harder
and may eventually affect starting.
Replacement Primer Bulbs
Our range includes replacement primer bulbs for compatible STIHL equipment, including components manufactured by established carburettor specialists such as Walbro and Zama.
These work in different ways - for example, the Walbro 188-512-1 primer bulb works for compatible applications, while the Zama primer bulb range is specified by precise dimensions instead.
These measurements are important because primer bulbs are not universally interchangeable.
Where possible, check the STIHL machine model, carburettor make and model, and original primer bulb part number before ordering. If the bulb is specified by dimensions, compare these carefully with the existing component.
