STIHL Fuel Caps
A fuel cap may be small, but it plays a big role in keeping the fuel system closed properly and preventing leaks during normal use. If a cap gets cracked, damaged or no longer seals or locks correctly, it’s time to replace it.
Our range includes STIHL fuel caps and chain oil caps for a variety of STIHL chainsaws and other petrol-powered equipment.
STIHL Fuel Caps & Chain Oil Caps
It's important to identify whether you need a fuel cap or chain oil cap, as the two aren’t always interchangeable.
STIHL uses different cap designs across its equipment, including traditional filler caps and bayonet-style clip-lock caps. For example, the STIHL 0000-350-0520 is a fuel/chain oil cap used on compatible machines, while the 0000-350-0533 is a bayonet clip-lock filler cap for specific applications.
When Should You Replace a Fuel Cap?
Inspect the cap if you notice:
Cracks or other physical damage
A cap that no longer locks or fits securely
Signs of fuel or oil leakage around the filler opening
Damaged threads, clips or sealing components
A cap that has become difficult to remove or refit correctly
Replacing a damaged cap is a simple maintenance job, but choosing the correct design is essential for a proper fit.
If you're unsure whether you need a fuel cap or chain oil cap, or which replacement is compatible with your machine, our STIHL Part Identification Service can help.
