Find Your Tractor’s Briggs & Stratton Engine Model Number
Locate your Briggs & Stratton engine number
The engine details you will need are Model | Type | Code (DOM)

The engine details wil be split into 3 groups of numbers
The engine model information is usually stamped directly into the engine or shown on a metal identification plate.
You will find three key number groups:
Model | Type | Code
What the Numbers Mean
- Model – first 6 characters – identifies the engine series
- Type – next 6 characters – specifies the exact version
- Code – final 8 characters – shows the manufacturing date
If your engine's model number is only 5 digits, you must add a "0" to the beginning to make it a 6-digit model.
